Back in October, Westgate Primary School installed some large climbing equipment. From the description, it sounded as though it would have been possible for all of their children to use, but it became clear that this was more a Key Stage 2 piece of apparatus, so they started looking for Reception/KS1 equipment and allocated a space on the playground.
Thanks to the generosity of the King Henry VIII Endowed Trust of a £5,000 grant, all their children are now able to access large-scale equipment during their lunchtimes.
They have also purchased an outdoor table tennis table, a giant chess set, giant Jenga, giant noughts and crosses (in fact lots of giant games), some benches so that the children can play the games and also work on arts and crafts …….. there is just so much on its way to Westgate that it feels like Christmas!
