Coten End Primary School – ICT Equipment (Floor Robots)

The Trust has further enriched the Computing curriculum at Coten End, with a a grant of £3,286 towards a technology based project.

Reception have been able to use the Easi-Cars to learn about cause and effect. It has allowed them to explore and investigate how things work.

BlueBots are programmable floor robots which introduce pupils to the world of coding and robotics. They have allowed both Year 1 and Year 2 pupils to build upon their prior learning of BeeBots and seamlessly interact with their current iPads.

Year 2 pupils have also experienced newer technology, advancing their understanding of coding, with the use of Loti-Bots. The Loti-Bots has an integrated pen holder that allows pupils to code the robot to draw shapes. It enhances their computational thinking skills and prepares pupils for future challenges in technology and programming. The introduction of these new devices, have also allowed them to free up technology for their EYFS children to explore and given more opportunities for cross-curricular learning with Maths and Science.
