A sensory garden has been developed to create a peaceful space for all the children. The existing beds have been modified and planted to have a variety of colour, scent and texture. Seats and a shaded area have been created for small learning groups and a quiet area for children to sit in so they can chat and interact. Sensory equipment and a water feature have also been added as additional activities. The garden will encourage insect and bird life with the addition of nesting boxes and bug hotels.
The children will experience the skill of gardening which is something they will benefit from all their lives.
A grant of £5,000 was awarded towards the support of this project.
