Following his term as Chairman, John Edwards has stepped down and Rupert Griffiths (on the right in the photograph) has taken on the role.
Rupert thanked John for the significant amount of time and effort he has given as Chairman. In the recent years the Trust has been through a period of change, particularly for its investments, successfully selling a number of its commercial properties and embarking on the sale of its land off Europa Way and Hampton Magna. During his time as Chairman, the Trust has also rationalised and extended its relationships with its beneficiaries.
Rupert is a solicitor and has lived in Warwick for 33 years. He has been a Trustee since 2009 and since 2012 he has also been the Trust’s nominated Governor at the Warwick Independent Schools Foundation. In addition, he is a trustee of the Austin Edwards Charity.
He is looking forward to the next few years as the Trust seeks to finalise the sales of its land off Europa Way and Hampton Magna. The proceeds should help the Trust to almost double in size during his term. The challenge ahead is the successful investment of these substantial funds and ensuring a suitable portfolio to generate the income that the Trust distributes to its beneficiaries. Income that should rise significantly once all the sales proceeds have been received and reinvested.
